ER5356 has increased levels of Mg, Ti and Mn, along with the addition of chromium and a slight reduction in silicon. These changes together serve to increase its corrosion resistance and make it the best aluminium for use in or near salt water.
-ER5356 is commonly used in 5050, 5052, 5083, 5356, 5454, 5456 and is the second most commonly used filler metal.
-For CAHF TIG welding with 100% argon shielding gas.
-ER5356 has a melting range of 1060 to 1175°F, a density of 0.96 lbs. per cubic inch and a typical tensile strength of 38,000 per square inch and its colour after anodising is white.
